Bryan has spent his entire career focused on one problem: how to manage scientific samples in a way that truly supports discovery at scale. His perspective is grounded in firsthand laboratory experience and shaped by a deep understanding of how data, automation, and workflows must operate together in real scientific environments.

With more than two decades in sample management, Bryan began his career in the lab at Eli Lilly in Research Triangle Park while completing his B.S. in Biochemistry at North Carolina State University. Those early years – managing samples by hand and working alongside IT and automation engineers – sparked a lasting interest in system design and data-driven approaches to sample management.

In 2007, Bryan founded Simplicis to bring that systems-first mindset to life, building platforms informed by operational reality rather than theoretical requirements. His work emphasizes integration over fragmentation, adaptability over rigid processes, and data architectures that scale as science evolves.

Bryan remains deeply engaged with customers, examining workflows, constraints, and edge cases to ensure that Ledger™ keeps pace with the speed and complexity of modern research. His approach reflects a simple belief: the best solutions are built by people who understand the science, the operations, and the systems that connect them.

Bryan is based in Indianapolis but enjoys traveling to visit customers across the globe.

Heather has always focused on one core problem: how to make complex operations work better in the real world. Her strength lies in designing processes and systems that reduce friction, scale reliably, and support the pace of modern science and technology.

With more than 20 years of operational leadership, Heather has guided Simplicis from a startup to an expert, high-performing team of software engineers delivering production-ready solutions. She brings a deep understanding of how data relationships, system design, and operational realities must work together, using that perspective to shape product roadmaps that are practical, adaptable, and built for long-term use.

Heather is especially focused on end-to-end software delivery: ensuring that strategy, architecture, development, and deployment function as a single system, not disconnected steps. Her approach emphasizes configuration over customization, adaptability over rigidity, and solutions that hold up under real operational pressure.

Heather holds a Master’s degree from the University of Glasgow, including a year at UNC–Chapel Hill.   Heather now lives in Indianapolis, enjoying the friendly midwestern life.
